Trained at the Arts Educational Schools in Theatre and Ballet and spent my early years totally immersed in the stage and performing. However, I always had a love for drawing and painting and spent many hours when not dancing and singing in the Art rooms at School. Won several Art cups. Took up a career in ballet; but, unfortunately, had an accident which put a stop to my dancing years and found myself at a loss of what to do. But my love of drawing and painting continued; so, I got a job at the Early Music Centre for a while which allowed me to pursue my love of art and allowed me to continue in a musical/theatrical atmosphere whilst I attended drawing and painting classes at St Oswald’s Studios for several years and also for a short time at Chelsea School of Art to train myself. Now I work in several media but particularly love egg tempera and more recently I have been working in buon fresco at Waterperry where I have learned the art of true fresco painting - absolutely fabulous, no other medium like it! I have worked on several paintings with my husband, Jeffery Courtney, and in fact, have learned a lot about technique from working with him and the wonderful skill of gilding. I have recently completed a mural in a house in Devon - a commission from the imagination. I have exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London and in Oxfordshire where we now live. I love to paint and try to express the essence of what I am looking at through light, colour and movement. I recently completed a commission to produce two works inspired by music especially composed for a celebration and to be made into a CD/book.
